Finding my rhythm

this new 10am-6pm class schedule has me testing out a few new routines: when do i get up? when do i ride to school? when is my optimal study time? what should i eat? why does it feel weird to get home so late? am i going to be able to retain any information at ALL after such a long day?

and when do i have time to check email? when should i blog? when can i call Jonathan to see how his day went?

today i was asked if i would like to help TA the MED 1 Anatomy class. i thought about it rather thoroughly, but eventually declined. as much as i would love seeing the anatomy material again (and again and again), i really don’t feel comfortable biting off more than i can responsibly chew. we have three shelf exams coming up this term (which will mean a lot more USMLE prep material self-study) and i have a couple of other extra-curricular side projects (including the animal rescue stuff) going on already.

… so, finding my feet. and awkwardly moving my feet to this new rhythm until i learn the song by heart.

will be back when i figure some stuff out, which i hope (for my own sake) is sooner than later.

Looks like you are figuring out all the new changes and dance to the new rhythm.
TAing can be rough especially when you have so much at stake.
I also hate getting home later but not much I can do about it.
    Hang in there.

I’m in the same boat. My schedule this semester is overwhelming. All I can do is come home and fall into bed dead tired, which of course means that I’m nearly a week behind in work already *sigh*

hope you find your rhythm soon honey … and how smart are you to recognize what you can take on and what you can’t … sounds like a good start to the new year :) xox
