Longer days letting in more light

“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow them.”

~ Louisa May Alcott

Nevis does not recognize Daylight Savings time, but i wanted to congratulate everyone back home that will be enjoying an extra hour of afternoon sunshine. i hear the cherry blossoms are sprouting in Vancouver, while Ontario was supposed to get 50 cm(!) of snow overnight. spring is sprunging!

I can vouch for the fact that yes, as I prepared to change the clocks in an attempt to usher in spring, I was walking knee-high in snow. If spring ever makes it way to this part of the world, I will be beside myself with happiness. Don’t ever take your island paradise for granted! (heck..don’t ever take vancouver for granted either)

Yup, we didn’t quite get 50 cm, but we got at least 45, and the winds were brutal. Be glad you’re somewhere warm :)

Here in Moose Factory the time change is much appreciated. It means that we soon won’t be walking to the hospital in the mornings in the dark anymore! I heard that they got a sh*tload of snow down south, we didn’t get any here :)

we got dumped on, for sure. We spent about three hours digging ourselves out, and helping the neighbours. Just in case you’re missing all this white stuff, you can enjoy it vicariously through my Flickr. :)

Montreal got a huge amount of snow saturday too. But this sunny sunday was absolutely great! I still see the snow as I did when I was a kid even if I have to shovel a lot more now!

Dear Jennifer, enjoy your island and the warm weather for us!

London Ont didn’t get 50cm over the weekend but it was a real mess. Probably about 20-30cm and high winds and drifting snow. It was above zero and sunny for part of today which was great. Rumour has it that the snow this year will help with the low water levels in the Great Lakes. And now we have an hour extra light to check. :)
