Biochemistry Shelf Exam

one exam down. six to go.

“It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers.”
~ James Thurber

uh, no. no, Mr. Thurber. it most definitely is not.

tomorrow is 3 of 3! we top off our hat-trick with the NBME Biochemistry Subject Examination.

these shelf exams are starting to feel sort of like initiation rites of passage. like i’m trying to join an elite sorority and have to suffer an insane hazing process involving copious amounts of caffeine and generalized anxiety with bizarre dream-filled REM sleep.

the rest of the class is starting to look pretty zombie-fied. and i know i have bags under my eyes* bigger than the ones i am planning to bring home next week.

but. no real break this weekend other than a few hours off Friday and Saturday night. just trying to keep up the bit of momentum i have going. as i always say to Joyce, “even if you’re only in first gear, at least moving forward is doing something in the right direction.”

plus, it’s SO much harder to get going again from a standstill. and i still have four finals to write next week.

————
*not necessarily from lack of sleep. bucketfuls of REM required for learning retention, remember?

I really like your quote about going in the right direction, even if it is just in first gear! Good luck for the third shelf exam!!

Keep it up! You’re doing just peachy. Forward is the only way you can go.

I’d have to add “…bags and all.” :-)

I’m just home from my final class and about to begin the final exams study marathon myself. I’m going to take the most heavenly nap first though. Then probably clean my room. Then…clean something else. Then spend some time getting organized. Then buy some study snacks. Then come up with a study ‘plan’. Then i’ll get right down to it!
