From London to Nevis, with love
apparently none of my friends actually think i’m serious when i say “come visit me in the Caribbean! stay for free in my spare bedroom! lay in my hammock drinking Caribs and watching planes take off all day!”
that is, none of my friends except wonderful marvelous Tiffany!
some of you might remember that the last time i saw Tiffany was for a few days at her jolly home in lovely London after my mentally and emotionally exhausting month in Zambia. the time before that, she met my mom and i in Barcelona for some shopping and Gaudi and Giant Sangria. the time before that, she and i flew from our respective corners of the earth (at the time) to meet in Montreal for more shopping (duh) and punk rock karaoke and photos of graffiti. in another lifetime before any of that, we actually lived in the same city (Vancouver) at the same time (2002? 2003?) and shared the same friend (Erin!).

and tonight, the world famous internationally-acclaimed street photographer is coming here! so excited i could about pee my pants!

If the husband and I were able to swing vacation this year, we had actually talked about heading there. Alas, we are housebound due to some family illnesses, so there will be no vacating for us this year. :( Trust me, I’d like nothing more than to lay around in a hammock for a while watching planes come in.
Hey Jen you are not the only person I know who’s down there in the Caribbean… I have another friend in the Caymans.
A rough day at work the other day led me to investigating just how much it would cost to do a Caribbean island-hopper. It’s pretty cheap once you get down there!
If I ever make my dream a reality (before your Nevis time is up), I will be sure to schedule a visit with you. ;)
marvelous!! :) have loads of fun!!
wish i could afford to fly down and visit, alas, it is not to be, ah well, someday the son will stop costing me money ;-) tee hee
*Me is jealous of Tiffany* although it’s been super sunny and hot here of late. Have a rocking time.
PS. I think I’d feel guilty lying about in the hammock drinking Caribs (what are they?) all day while you slaved away in the classroom. ;P
i definately want to try to make it down there, as long as your offer is still open! may need to hit you up for some travel tips here soon..
how much longer are you in nevis for?
Fantastic. Hope you have some spare time to spend with her and have a great time.
The hammock, sky, ocean and planes taking off sure sounds relaxing.
Flights not to bad. About $1,000 to $1,300 USD from SNA to Nevis. Time traveling depends on the $$$ amount 13.5 to 23 hours.
