[my sister Janice with her dog, Creepella Gruesome]
UPDATE: photo and more info here.
Maddy’s mom is really really sick.
i don’t want to post the graphic photos here, but suffice it to say Creepy’s entire underside is covered in what looks like painful red blisters. naturally, the vet has no clue what is going on (do they ever?). they have taken some skin samples and flown them to Regina to try and find out whether it’s an allergic reaction or auto-immune or what. she’s gettin’ to be an old girl, but she’s still strong and more stubborn than ever.
please keep Creepy and Janice (and the rest of the girls back home) in your thoughts and prayers this week. i’ll keep you posted as i get more info from Saskatchewan.

sorry to hear…maybe some allergic reaction to a bite or something…….wish only the best always esp to our little ones!!!!! xoxoxo
Either way, steroids would probably help.
I will most definitely keep the pups in my prayers. That is the worst when a pup is sick. Rest assured your mom is going to take excellent care of her.
This is sad news, it is always hard to cope with a sick family member. I wish your family the best for a speedy recovery.
Poor Creepella! Pets give us so much and some of the hardest responsibilities we have as owners is to endure their pain (lesser, greater, real or imagined!).
Sending mental hugs to Creepella and well-wishes for the rest of the family.
You ever have a really bad day and then read something on the internet that just puts you over the edge? Yeah, I just had that moment.
All my love to your family, human and dog alike.

Dear Jennifer,
I am so sorry for Crepella illness. I am not a vet, and I agree that sometimes I wonder if they really do find the cause of illness. I took my cat to the vet a couple of times and paid huge amounts of money and they could not find anything. I really didn’t care for the cost but just wanted to know what my beloved cat suffered from. Anyway, both times the illness passed by itself.
My god, I am writing way too long messages! Anyway, I wanted to tell you that sometimes dogs get really bad skin reaction when they are in contact with mangos (the fruit yes!)
The mango is connected somewhere to poison ivy (same family of plant i think) and animals are often as allergic to mangos than humans are to poison ivy. Just wanted to share this info, in case the beautifull Crepella was tempted by the fruit. In fact, it is the skin of the fruit that is creating the allergies most of the time.
I hope the vet will find the cause and be able to help Crepella. Goodluck! Take care!
Janice, Creepy and the rest of the girls will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope they are all doing ok!
thanks for all the good vibes and well wishes.
i will definitely keep you posted when we get more info…
xoxo
