The reason for the season

this afternoon we’re off to Saskatoon to meet more of my family. this should really be the last of it — new family, i mean. and introductions. and first impressions.
we went to see “Four Christmases” last night and — while it wasn’t that great* — i sort of wish our familial festivities only took one day and that we could fly to Fiji tomorrow to get away from it all. it’s weird to meet someone and fall in love and create a little life together on a little deserted island, only to have reality come crashing in when you get back to the mainland. i’m head over heels for this guy, so i want everyone to like him and i want everyone to like me and i want him to like everyone…
and i know that’s not necessarily possible. certainly not after just a few days.
so i’m done stressing. if this is really meant to be between us, it’s just the beginning of many many many holidays to come. and stressing about keeping everyone happy every holiday season must be a recipe for absolute and total UNhappiness.
i’m happy and he’s happy. that’s the whole goal, right?
please tell me that’s the goal. otherwise i might be in serious trouble over here. : )

*or even really very good.

John is almost correct – we say
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLAZO!
But the enthusiasm is 100% SPOT ON.

Just too damn cute. Your smiles make me smile. Be happy now and forever, no matter what. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I guess that’s the goal? The selfish goal!
(just to put a damper on all the “awww you’re so cute” comments)

Of course that’s the goal, silly! :-) Quit stressing and have FUN!
PS – I really should learn to take my own (very sage) advice! *lol* ;-P

Brandon looks about 17 in that picture hahahaha
(and i can say that because I’m 30 and couldn’t buy a lottery ticket the other day)

that is totally the goal, and don’t let anyone make you feel or think otherwise.

Holidays stress people out all over the world. But love…love is there every single day.

Main goal is for you to be happy and he is happy! In theory that should be the end of the story.
The real trick is to get and keep the rest of the families in agreement.
What ever you two do is Have A Happy Healthy New Year!
Another great shot of you two.

This is a great picture!
Seriously, no worries for the holidays! My holidays are just like the movie 4 X-mas. My parents are divorced and my boyfriend parents are divorced too, so thats makes 4 parties in a row, and it is always so complicated! Over the years we have been together, we realised that we have to take the holiday season lightly, because, for a lot of people, this is a stressfull time of the year with gifts to find and pounds to loose and that stress often gets out in a weird way.
Serioulsy, holidays are not like the real life, so don’t worry for Brandon, or you, or your family or his family! Everyone will get along in the end, i’m sure!!!

Meet the Parents is hilarious! But they sort of all get on in the end, don’t they?! First family meetings are weird, especially at Christmas. Inevitably those kinks smooth out and families adopt their new extensions as family :D You guys have been brave packing so much travel and family into one whirlwind season. You’re just getting the awkwardness all over with, which is good :D xoxox

I have to say that it has been a whirlwind and was crazy, but a ton of fun. It is always nice to chat with people that know Jen better than myself and get an understanding of what she is about when she is not around me. I loved meeting her family and all were more than great to me. I could not ask for a more perfect welcome. We got too meet a ton of people drive and see more of Saskatchewan and eat great food. Nothing could be better. Just sad we begin travels back to the island tomorrow!

We saw the same movie, “4 Christmases”, and felt the same way about it. It was good, but not great. The best part of the entire movie really was how they jam packed all of the family visits into one day. If only it was that easy. lol ;D
Happy New Year, and I’m so glad I have found your weblog. You are so cheerful, and are working so hard toward your goals … it’s all incredibly inspiring.
:)
