I also had a giant NKOTB poster

busy studying… so i thought i would give you this photo to laugh at for a couple of days. it was taken circa 1990 and i’m pretty sure we’re at a roller rink…

apparently i was so traumatized by the teasing i received from those glasses that it scared my eyesight straight. i haven’t worn corrective lenses in nearly 20 years.

i have nothing to talk about on this end except my wash-rinse-repeat routine of gym-library-qbank with extra fabric softener thrown in because i miss Brandon like crazy. it sucks. i swore off the long-distance thing forever and now i’m doing it again. on Nevis, i was working so hard at being a team player, but i’ve oh-so-comfortably slid back into my old independent habits.

at least my hair products these days are less damaging to the ozone.

I had the same bigass plastic frames in blue except it was 1988 and I was 18.

How come your eyes got scared straight and mine are still wrecked!? Unfair!

    :)

I, too, had the horrible, huge glasses that were terribly trendy in the 80s.

Unfortunately, I got them in ’92. Even better, I got braces in ’94. My social life improved drastically in ’96 when I got contacts & the braces came off…

:) i’m glad to know i wasn’t the only one. i had the HUGEST glasses and the THICKEST bangs…and even my power as editor-in-chief of the school paper couldn’t prevent me from winning biggest bookworm. lol. at least now when i see people from hs they are amazed at how “great” i look. i had no where to go but up!

Glasses? What glasses? I don’t see any glasses…hehehe

  7. BCWB Says:

Wow, that is too great. I could never picture you wearing glasses. That is a really nice switch I must say. By the way, I am missing you like CRAZY as well. Maybe, there will be a point where I can make a mad dash for the border….

  8. BCWB Says:

I hear my mustang can do 80 and not even try hard : )

  9. Joanne Says:

No mad dashes for the border! You might get shot! Or chased by and RCMP officer on his horse.

My old photos with glasses trump your old photo with glasses in the nerd department.

Contact lenses to the rescue at age 16! I wish my vision improved, but alas no…

You are the blue version of Sally Jesse Raphael! hee!! I love it! You are absolutely darling.

I get the same comments as Sarah from people from hs “You look so GREAT!” I, too, only could get better since a bear gnawing my face off was about the only way I could get any worse. I feel like I’m becoming more beautiful with age.

Since we’re all being candid about our questionable choices in late 80′s and early 90′s eye wear … I had the same frames … ‘cept mine were black.

(which made them so very cool)

…and here I was so jealous of your poster.

  14. Mel Says:

Nice – I had the same huge glasses, with braces too! And a 90210 poster, thankyouverymuch ;)

Nice indeed – thanks for giving me more to procrastinate about!!! Damn, where are those aviators I put away for hurricane season… Time to go rummaging through suitcases.

By the way… I’m Ray – MED 2, we met at the MUA Students for Change conference (of 2 … hehe =P ).
