The Dress

i got to put my dress on again yesterday.

just when i think my excitement about getting married is drowning in an ocean of teeny tiny to-dos, i have a reason to put The Dress on and am swallowed up in giddiness all over again. yesterday, we staged a “final fitting”. mom fixed all of the crooked stitches done by the seamstress in May and we undid a few of her other embellishments* as well. as you can see, the final touches also involved delicate maneuvering with pliers.

then i stood in the dining room with sunburned shoulders wearing pajamas from Brandon’s mom and steamed the dress from top to bottom. and bottom to top.

now it’s hanging from a sturdy hook in the attic ceiling with a “GROOM: DO NOT ENTER” sign on the door.

the next time i put The Dress on, i will be wearing the most ultra super duper dunk-tank strength waterproof mascara i can find and walking down a green grass aisle.

I will be bringing some waterproof mascara of my own as well as a hanky to hold underneath my bouquet if it is large enough to hide it.

Can I recommend Clinique mascara… the one that coats your eyelashes with little tubes that only come off with warm water and squeezing the lashes? That’s what I wore :)
