there’s a new pair of long legs in the house.

not sure whether Ndamukong would be flattered or not… but i’m sure he’d tell her she needs to put on weight.

Suh is Brandon’s year-old Great Dane rescue. it doesn’t matter how or when or why she ended up at the OKC Animal Shelter: she’s with us now. unfortunately, she kinda reminds me of Kate Moss in an unhealthy-supermodel-heroin-binge-purge-leggy-skinny sorta way. the shelter updated her shots, spayed her and sent her to us with some antibiotics for a snotty upper respiratory infection.

she’s pretty. and pretty easy-going. she knows “come,” but not “sit”. she likes bones, but not kibble. she loves her kennel and absolutely adores Brandon. we’re gonna work on the weight thing. and Maddy’s gonna work on the bossy older sister thing.

Hey- Duke’s not the biggest fan off kibble either, and he doesn’t like to eat when he’s a little stressed, as I’m sure Suh has been. Pretty much any little treat placed on top of his kibble will get him started though. And he’s a monstrous fan of pumpkin pie. We can’t wait to meet her! By the way, do you miss your couch yet?

congrats! i rescued a dog this week, too! he’s from the most inhumane humane society ever…the worst thing i’ve ever seen and i have all sorts of veterinary sob stories. he sits but is a retriever who doesn’t retrieve (or know why i like to toss toys at all). he escaped his crate with only 1 latch unlatched. the mess i found in my apartment made the name charlie stick. hurricane charlie!

If you post this picture of Flickr you need to add it to the “baggy lip group”. Congrats to you the Brandon! Yay, new puppage!

Suh is really great. She has settled in nicely and other than two accidents goes outside wonderfully. She has started to eat kibble and actually loves pretty much any type of food. She also thinks that she is a lap dog and will lay right over the top of me on our little couch. We are going to have to get another couch in the near future, this time a full length one and not a love seat.
