Death with Interruptions

“… one could even consider it a minor defect given the chaotic syntax, the absence of full stops, the complete lack of very necessary parentheses, the obsessive elimination of paragraphs, the random use of commas and, most unforgivable sin of all, the intentional and almost diabolical abolition of the capital letter, which, can you imagine, is even omitted from the actual signature of the letter and replaced by a lower-case d.”

~ José Saramago

Abolition of the capital letter! Unforgivable!

I tried SO hard to read his book, “Blindness”… but the style just kept tripping me up, and I only got about a quarter of the way through. The story was great, but reading it was SO DIFFICULT! Gah.

wow I gotta get this one now…..I haven’t read any of his books and that’s almost amazing to even me since I read 3 to 4 a week even with all the stupid hours I spend on management theory papers..most recently INNOVATION……and yet I was marked a fifth of a point for being too “creative” Hmmm..creative vs. innovation….I suppose in an Innovation course CREATIVITY doesn’t count. Rat bastage of a blowhard professor. ha!
