<p>Since everyone else across the continent is complaining about the heat, I might as well join in. Let&#8217;s just say it&#8217;s a warm time of year to be in a long white coat.</p>
<p>In 1980, Oklahoma set our state record for the:<br />
<strong>most number of 100+F days in a year</strong>&#8230; <strong>54</strong>!</p>
<p>In 1936, Oklahoma set our state record for the:<br />
<strong>most number of <em>consecutive</em> 100+F days in a row</strong>&#8230; <strong>22</strong>! (August 4-25th)</p>
<p>In 2011, we have had 29 days of 100+F heat and 5 confirmed (with 8 pending) heat-related deaths.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not even August yet, which is typically our hottest month. </p>
<p>Yikes.</p>
