[Originally written March 6th, 2010.]

Lately my dreams are bizarre technicolour movies. Last night I was on a super long train ride trying to get to a boat. And then I was a cooking show chef sharing my favourite recipe for spaghetti sauce. I woke up craving oregano and garlic.

And that’s when I actually manage to fall asleep. I’ve never tossed-and-turned so much in my life.

Plus, the bladder. It was too small to start with and now something is squishing it even smaller. I get up at least twice every night to pee and I am always thirsty. Like, always. I’ve been trying to limit water an hour before bed, but then I just wake up in the middle of the night with a dry mouth. If I’m gonna wake up anyway, might as well get up to pee.

I’ve read (aka: learned in school) that all of this water drinking is to help increase my body’s volume in preparation for 50% more blood. 50% more blood?? Vampires don’t even need that much in 9 months!

Was it last week that my skinny jeans didn’t fit? Well, imagine my horror when slipping on my biggest, baggiest jeans today and BARELY ZIPPING THEM UP.

Brandon just laughs and shakes his head and reminds me that it’s only going to get worse.

So, we’ve apparently crossed the bridge into “you can tell other people you’re pregnant now because the risk of miscarriage is low, low, LOW”. And we’re still not really talking. Well, you be the judge of that. I guess it depends on when you read this online, but right now this post is getting saved as a draft instead of published. There’s something about keeping the scariness and craziness and happ-happ-happiness of it all to ourselves for now.

————
photo: This photo is out of chronological order because it was the Very First thing we received in the mail (from my mom) after finding out the big news. Yes, it’s a Husker baby bottle. And oh yes, there’s a future Husker brewing in me right now.
